She attended the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities in high school and later graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor's in Painting & Printmaking. After graduating, Emma and her best friend Elisa Rios co-founded Guard n' Flags, a custom screen printing business in Richmond, VA. Since moving back to South Carolina she has volunteered at the Beaufort Arts Council, became an advisor for Responsible Artistry Nonprofit, and lead after school art clubs at the Lowcountry Montessori School. Last summer Emma attended Athena Standards, an art residency in Athens, Greece. This year her work was accepted in the National Juried Show "Interiors" at the Cape Cod Museum of Art, and she was chosen for the South Carolina Commission for the Arts Artist Directory. Currently Emma is pursuing her Masters in Fine Arts at Alfred University.
